Equipment Guide Special Notice

The 9th Doncaster Scout Troop leadership team have more than 30 years experience of running Scouting activities. We have a great knowledge and understanding of all of the latest outdoor equipment, and the advice we provide on this website is based upon our own personal experience.

Many of the leaders are parents and understand the financial constraints that other parents face. However, as trained activity instructors we also have a moral and legal obligation towards the personal health and safety every member of the Scout Troop, and for many Scouting activities, wearing the correct outdoor equipment is absolutely essential. Inadequate equipment will not only put an individual at risk, but also the safety and well-being of the whole party.

Any Scout who wishes to take part in an outdoor activity must have the adequate personal equipment, and they will be made aware of this in plenty of time before an activity is due to take place. We reserve the right to refuse a Scout taking part in an activity where he does not possess the correct equipment. Whilst we have a very limited range of equipment that Scouts can borrow, we are not able to offer a full equipment hire service to everyone. If you are unsure about any equipment you have bought, or would like some advice, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will advise you as best as possible.

Many thanks
